Alla Prima Painting

is a painting in one sitting. Without drying between coats.

is a method widely used by artists who paint on the ground outdoors. It allows you to paint quickly and spontaneously, which gives the painting a feeling of freshness, bright colors and atmosphere.

This painting was made from a photo taken at the entrance to the Parc du Mont-Saint-Bruno, Montérégie, Quebec, in October 2008.

The fall colors were not yet installed, but the large maple tree whose leaves were beginning to blush, makes a great shade of green tones complementary to the forest and warms the whole picture.
